I’m doing my pharaoh project on Ahmose the 1.Ahmose was a great Pharaoh. He started the 18th dynasty and also the New Kingdom. It was the dynasty of some of the best-known pharaohs in Egypt, like King Tut and Queen Hatsheput and also King Thutmose .Scholars think Ahmose reigned over Egypt about 1550B.C at the age of 10 and ruled for 25 years.
His birth given name is Ahmose which means The Moon is Born. Pharaohs also have an other name which is a thrown name which is a word they would call the pharaoh in respect. His thrown name was Neb-pehty-re which meant The Lord of Strength is Ra. He had a brother and a sister. His brother’s name was Kahmose and his sister’s name is Ahmose-Nefertiri. His mom was Queen Ashotep and his dad was Tao II. At that time Egypt was separated, in the north was the Hyksos and in the south the Nubians. And Ahmose’s dad ruled Egypt before him and the reason he died is because the Hyksos brutally killed him along with his entire army.
So after Tao’s death his oldest son which was Kahmose took over and his goal was to avenge his fathers’ death and also to reunite Egypt. But the Egyptians did not want to war but the men of Kahmose intercepted a message from the Hyksos to the Nubians saying that should team up to conquer Egypt. So Kahmose leaded his Egyptian army and headed them north to the Hyksos and they first took over the first town they encountered. And they headed to the Hyksos capital Arvaris. But just before Kahmose and his Egyptian Army just about to push the Hyksos out of Egypt, Kahmose died leaving the Hyksos in northern Egypt.
So after Kahmose’s death Ahmose became pharaoh but he was still young so his mom Queen Ashotep help ruled and taught Ahmose for his future duties. So about 10 years later Ahmose was ready to take on the Hyksos and also avenge for the deaths of his father and brother. And Ahmose and his army marched up to Arvaris . And they defeated the Hyksos and now Egypt was united from the borders of Nubia in the south to the Mediterranean Sea in the north. Then when he returned to Thebes, he was worshipped like a god and was a hero and that wasn’t it for Ahmose he wanted to build a bigger and better and more powerful Egypt.
But to build a better Egypt he needed money so he went down south to Nubia which was where the richest gold mines where in Egypt at that time. But during this time former Hyksos allies was attempting to rise again in the north lead a former enemy of Kahmose named Teti-en. But his mother stopped the rebellion and also was awarded with gold files which was a award for courage which was found on her mummy in her tomb at Thebes. Then he got married and I really think this is really disgusting, he married his sister, Ahmose-Nefertiri and had a lot of children. And he also had children with different people.
And he beautiful life came to an end, he was buried in the Dra Abu el-Naga area, but his tomb hasn’t been found yet. But his actual mummy was found in the Deir el-Bahari cache. Ahmose live a great life and he did a lot of stuff for Egypt and main thing is he made Egypt a whole. And I know he will be remembered forever.
